Irritable Bowel  Syndrome (IBS):-

It is also called as Inflammatory bowel disease ( IBD )
There is two forms of idiopathic 1) Ulcerative Colitis (UC)
                                                     2) Crohn Disease




Etiology:-

- Infection Agent, Environment, and immune system
- The inflammation response with IBD may indicate abnormal regulation of the normal immune system.
- Smoking appears to protective for ulcerative colitis but it harmful for Crohn's disease.
- The both idiopathic deffer in two general aspect 1) Anatomical site
                                                                                2) Depth of involvement 

Treatment of IBD:-

1.General treatment:

                                 - High Fiber Diet, Rich in Soluble Fiber.
                                 - Reduce mental stress
                                 - Anxiety
                                 - Tension
                                 - Yoga and mental relation technical
                                 - Change in lifestyle

2. Medicine Treatment:

(a) If Diarrhoea Predomint IBS:

1.Tab.Colospa 135mg TDS (20 min before meal)
2.Tab.Lopamide 2mg BD
3.Tab.shelcal 500mg 1OD

(b) If Constipation predominant IBS :

Note... Avoid anti-spasmodic and Tricyclic anti-depressant, They increase the constipation
1.Tab.Gental laxative but don't give a long period
2.Cap.Loftil 20mg OD
3.Tab.Morease 1 TDS

(c) For other symptoms:

1.If abdominal cramps give Tab.Eldicet 50mg 1 BD
2.If bloating, fullness is distressing then give Tab.Unienzyme 1 BD
3.If mucus in stools + Diarrhea then give Tab.fasigyn 500mg
